Mandatory Visit

I grew up around the Galveston Bay area and saw the Strand change from a Sailor's relief stop to one of the best attractions the area has to offer. Allow at least two-three hours to visit the shops and try at least one of the restaurants. No trip is complete without sampling desserts at the Emporium. A visit to Captain Bubby's is always fun, even if you leave with the sniffles from all the dust.

Pros: Value, Variety, People-Watching

Cons: None, None, None
